Overview
Workers with this qualification have tradesperson-level skills in the manufacture and/or installation of products, including furniture and cabinetry, made from timber and other materials. They have core skills in tool use, measuring, drawing (including computer-aided design), interpreting work documentation, preparing cutting lists, communication, teamwork, and safe and environmentally sustainable work practices. They may have specialised skills in wood machining, cabinet and furniture making, kitchen and bathroom construction and installation, marine cabinetry, coopering or drafting. TRAINING & ASSESSMENT
Delivery:
● Supervised online: 6 hours/week
● Face-to-face: 14 hours/week
● Unsupervised study: ~5 hours/week

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
● At least 18 years of age
● Year 12 or equivalent
● CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)
● Course entry interview (includes digital literacy check)
● English proficiency – IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) within last 2 years
Accepted English Evidence:
●IELTS, PTE, TOEFL (equivalent to 6.0)
● 5 years education in an English-speaking country
● English Placement Test at IELTS 6.0 level

Duration
52 weeks, including 40 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms of 10 weeks each and 12 weeks of holidays.
